A common question we get regarding our Game Price Guide service is "Will it work with QuickBooks POS?" This is a great question, but unfortunately QuickBooks POS doesn't work so well for game trading stores. The downside is that it doesn't have "trade-in" or "buyback" functionality. QuickBooks POS isn't the only POS package lacking this function, the problem is that doing a "trade-in" is not a standard retail store function so generic POS packages aren't going to be the best choice for game trading stores. If you are in the process of opening a video game store or looking to upgrade your POS software, take a look at the POS packages from Extreme POS and Wolf Track. We also offer a custom data feed with the same buy/sell video game pricing information. This feed can be incorporated in your own desktop or web-based applications. Regardless of which POS software package you choose, make sure that it includes trade-in or buyback functionality. A successful game store will be doing dozens of trade-in transactions per day and you don't want to have to hack your own system just to process these transactions. If you are already stuck with a software package that doesn't support trade-in transactions, you may consider using our Game Price Guide POS web-based service to process your trade-in transactions and your existing software to process the sales transactions.
