QuickBooks POS doesn't do Video Game Trade-ins PDF Print E-mail

A common question we get regarding our Game Price Guide service is "Will it work with QuickBooks POS?"  This is a great question, but unfortunately QuickBooks POS doesn't work so well for game trading stores.  The downside is that it doesn't have "trade-in" or "buyback" functionality.  QuickBooks POS isn't the only POS package lacking this function, the problem is that doing a "trade-in" is not a standard retail store function so generic POS packages aren't going to be the best choice for game trading stores.

If you are in the process of opening a video game store or looking to upgrade your POS software, take a look at the POS packages from Extreme POS and Wolf Track.

We also offer a custom data feed with the same buy/sell video game pricing information.   This feed can be incorporated in your own desktop or web-based applications.

Regardless of which POS software package you choose, make sure that it includes trade-in or buyback functionality.  A successful game store will be doing dozens of trade-in transactions per day and you don't want to have to hack your own system just to process these transactions.

If you are already stuck with a software package that doesn't support trade-in transactions, you may consider using our Game Price Guide POS web-based service to process your trade-in transactions and your existing software to process the sales transactions.

New and Used Accessories are now available through our Stock Balancing System (http://www.bresoftware.com/stockbalancing). You can browse the entire inventory by leaving the search box blank.  Select a platform and leave the search box blank to narrow results to one specific platform.

Are you selling IntensaFIRE Rapid Fire Controller Mods yet?  The IntensaFIRE kits and pre-modded controllers are available through the Stock Balancing System.  Your customers may not know they want (or need) a Rapid Fire Controller until they try it, order one for your store and put it out to demo.  Then sit back and watch your customer's jaws drop the first time they pull the trigger.  We saw this happen for 3 days straight at E3... get one controller, put it in your store for a week THEN DECIDE if you want to carry it or not.

Create an account in our Stock Balancing System here:

http://www.bresoftware.com/stockbalancing/create_account_1.php

or use the Demo account to look around.

Please call 800-431-4263 if you have any questions.

Nintendo 64 Thumbstick Replacement Part

There wasn't a flashy display and no booth babe demonstrating this replacement part, but this is something that most independent game stores can jump on and make money on right now.  If you've ever been around a Nintendo 64 controller, you know the joystick/thumbstick is the first part to wear out.  Your customers know the controller sucks when the stick wears out so they don't mind selling/trading it in for 50-75 cents.  Take these "bad" controllers and BRING THEM BACK TO LIFE with this brand new replacement part.

Refurbished "original" thumbsticks have been around for years, but refurbished meant they were used, just not as used up as the bad ones.  Supplies were also limited as there aren't as many good Nintendo 64 controllers out there any more.

With this BRAND NEW replacement part, supply is not a problem and the quality is the same on everyone.

As these aren't original parts, we've notice 2 differences:

- The "stick" itself is a little bit shorter than the original stick and the top of the stick is larger in diameter.

- The "feel" of stick is outstanding.  Where the original stick just moved around, this stick has a SOLID feel.

Grab a couple of these, put one in a "demo" controller for your customers to test/feel/try and they'll sell themselves...

Purchase 1 at a time or take advantage of quantity discounts up to 48 pieces
(be sure to be logged in for your wholesale price)

Purchase in lots of 10
