Is BRE Software a legit company?
Yes. We've been buying your stuff and selling you ours since 1986.
We don't sell copied games. We don't sell or endorse hardware or software that allows users to play games that have been copied or downloaded.
All business in conducted in accordance with local, state, and federal law.
What do NEW, USED and DISC/CART ONLY mean?
NEW - Factory sealed. These games have never been used.
USED - These games are “complete,” meaning they include the original display box and original instruction manual. These games have been previously owned.
Disc/Cart Only - These games are a lower priced alternative to our “complete” used video games. The Disc/Cart Only games do not include original boxes or instructions. Disc Only games are packaged in slim jewel cases or paper sleeves, whereas Cart Only games do not include any packaging. These games have been previously owned.
Can I buy or sell Import games at BRE Software's retail store?
No. We only buy and sell (Region 1, NTSC) United States/North American games, videogame hardware, and accessories. We do not buy/sell PAL games or hardware.
Does BRE Software's retail store buy or sell computer games, software, or hardware?
No. BRE Software no longer deals in computer hardware or software.
Does BRE Software's retail store do pre-orders or special-orders?
No, but we hold contests where customers have a chance to win upcoming titles. Visit brefresno.com or facebook.com/bresoftware often to stay up to date on our current contests or specials.
Are there any specific requirements that I need to meet when selling items to BRE Software's retail store?
When selling Video Games and non-serialized accessories, the person doing so must be 18 or older and have a valid California Driver's License or California Identification Card issued by the DMV. No Military I.D., Out of state driver's license, or any other form of picture I.D. will be accepted.
When selling multiple copies or new/unopened copies of any title/game, we require a copy of the original receipt or invoice.
When selling Serialized Items (ie. video game systems) STATE and LOCAL LAW requires the following when selling back items with serial numbers:
- The individual must be 18 years and older. Parents will have to sell serialized items for minors.
- The individual must have a valid picture California Driver's License or picture California Identification Card issued by the DMV. No Military I.D., Out of state driver's license or any other form of picture I.D. will be accepted.
- The individual will be required to be finger printed for the Fresno Police Department's records.
- The individual will be required to sign a document stating they are the owner or have the authority of the owner to sell said serialized item.
- A copy of the Pawnbroker/Secondhand Dealer Report form is not issued to the individual. All copies are designated for police or store records.
- All video game system will be tested in store.
How long is store credit/BRE Bucks Card good for?
There is no expiration date on store credit/BRE Bucks Cards. Replacements will not be issued for lost or stolen Credit Slips or BRE Bucks Cards.
In order to use store credit, the original credit slip or BRE Bucks Card is required. Buyback slips are not credit slips, and will not be accepted. All credit slips issued at previous BRE Software locations may be used at the Fresno location.
My system no longer works, does BRE Software repair systems?
We do not provide a Video Game System Repair Service. However, we do purchase defective systems from retail store customers. Feel free to visit or contact the retail store, or refer to our Video Game System Buyback Prices for appropriate pricing.
I have some scratched Video Games, Music CDs and DVD Movies, can you fix them?
Yes, we offer a disc repair service to all of our retail store customers.
The disc repair service is priced at $3.00 per disc.
Keep in mind that some discs may be in a condition that is beyond what our service can provide. We cannot guaranty that the removal of the scratches will restore function to a disc.
If a customer decides to continue with the resurfacing procedure after being notified by a BRE Software representative that a disc may be beyond help, the resurfacing fee will still be charged.
We will not replace or reimburse for any disc that continues to be defective after the resurfacing procedure.
Can I contact BRE Software’s retail store about my Online Order?
No. Orders are not billed or processed from the retail location. Retail Store employees do not have adequate information available to accurately address any questions regarding online orders.
