A very well crafted rumor spread quickly last week, suggesting that Peter Jackson would direct the new Halo movie that is being developed. There were several reasons for this, including that Jackson is an avid gamer, has his own special effects company, and ties to New Zealand, where movies can be made cheaper and the terrain resembles that of the surface of Halo in the game. Well, it turns out that the rumor was mostly true. Peter Jackson will be producing instead of directing, and the movie will be shot in New Zealand. It will also "make use of Jackson's production facilities." No word on who the actual director will be. We're just glad that Uwe Boll's name is nowhere near this movie (any more).

Every time a Grand Theft Auto Game is announced, a rumor begins circulating suggesting that the next game in the series will have multiplayer modes. Well, this time they were right, and finally, PSP's Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is going to have multiplayer modes. The modes are "Survivor," "Protection Racket", and "Get Stretch", which are fancy new terms for deathmatch, assault, and capture the flag games, in that order. Admittedly, the games will all have a slight GTA twist. For instance, "Get Stretch" won't have a flag, it will have a car that must be stolen from an enemy base and returned to yours. The games will reportedly be for up to 6 players. Will multiplayer modes be available in the next console version of the series? We don't know, but we've got our money on it.
