Gizmondo (?) Launch!
Written by Chase
Ever heard of one? We didn’t either until a short while ago. It’s a new system by Tiger Electronics made to compete with Sony’s PSP and Nintendo’s DS. It launched on October 22 in the states, and they’re only selling the things online. Sound screwy? It did to us too. But Tiger says they’re doing great. They’re advertising heavily, supposedly (I haven’t seen anything, have you?). Tiger is planning on rolling out more mall kiosks and eventually selling merchandise in retail stores. If they do that, you may even hear about the Gizmondo soon. For now, we’ll just call it the little engine that might.

Nintendo Planning to Launch the Revolution Simultaneously
Written by Chase
Worldwide, that is. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata was quoted earlier this week as saying, in reference to the Revolution ""I can only say that it's coming out during 2006, but it will be after the current fiscal year. We hope to make it a simultaneous worldwide release as much as it's possible." There were rumors of a June 2006 release date earlier this week, but we don’t think Nintendo can launch that soon worldwide. So, while there’s no official release date for the system yet, we here at BRE think you should expect it under your Christmas Tree next year.

Nintendo Cuts Deal With McDonald’s for DS Wi-Fi Hotspots
Written by Chase
Well, sort of. The deal is actually with a company with Wayport, but the rest of the story is true. Nintendo’s deal is allowing customers to play their DS online wirelessly at 6,000 McDonalds locations across the country. There will be almost no setup required when playing online wirelessly at the burger joint according to nintendo. Their Wi Fi online service is released on November 14th.
